Drivers side power seat wont back up

My wife drove my 97 Runner yesterday and of course, had to move the seat all the way forward. I go in the car today and with the wife being 5'4" and myself 6'2", naturally, I had to back my seat up. It started to go back then began to pivot to the left, kind of opening to the door while the right side was stuck. Has anyone ever had any issues like this. Could the slider be off the track? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I get in a wreck, the air bag is gonna give me a blast to the chest.

You need to remove the seat and inspect the track to see what caused the right side to be jammed. The seat is only held on by 4 14mm bolts so it wont take long to remove it.

Alot of times you will find a coin jammed in there...

I was able to adjust the seat manually by unhooking the sliders. I believe the motor is gone. It would turn one side of the seat at first. After I put the seat back in the truck I got no power at all. I guess I will look for a replacement motor on ebay.

seriously though there probably is something stuck in the track. I drop stuff in mine all the time on that side. Only difference is i give my seat a swift shove back and plow it over.
