Went to my dealer today to get rid of the DRL and they said they cant do it B/C the "system is wired through the body computer" for some reason this doesnt sound right. I am sure there is an easy way to disengage it. Any ideas?

There was a TSB on this for my 3rd gen that involved cutting wires but on another forum I found out it was as simple as unplugging a connector under the hood. I haven't checked on my '08 yet but I hope it's as simple.

The 4th Gen's are a bit different if you want to do it as a hardware mod. Many members have done it, so the instructions are posted.

If you have DRL's from the factory, they can be turned off through the computer by a dealer. Here's the TSB that J.A. mentioned, EL014-06.

Expect the dealer to charge some insane amount of labor for this process - even though it's a 15-minute task that's done with a computer, their time is money. However, a lot of dealers would do it for free if you're going there to have other work done at the same time.

GREAT thanks guys. Printed out the PDF TSB and brought it to the dealer today and it was taken care of for free, my salesman and mechanic just laughed and said they had no idea about any TSB for this, so he kept a copy and thanked me. No more bright orange lights. I also ordered my Sirius and had my DVD headrests installed along with the protective undercoating for the beach. Thanks again for the great info.
