DRL Switch mod to have on even in "off" position?

Hello,

Does anyone know how to remove the DRL switch and rewire it so that the "off" position doesn't work - ie always on with no way to switch them off. I need to do this to pass an inspection.

I couldn't find anything searching.

Moving from Missouri to BC and 4runner must be modified to pass the RIV. Aannnnnd...Toyota has no idea when they can get the required parts, of course. Backordered with a (laughable) probable delivery date of 2050. I'm not kidding. 2050, although that is obviously a "we have no idea when" placeholder.

I need to do something myself as Toyota will be no help and I have just 40 days left before my 60 days is up on the import.

Canadian Tire should be able to install a module that fixes the DRLs to be always on. Where in BC are you moving to?

The solution is super simple and super easy. Just replace the light switch stalk with one meant for a Canadian 4Runner. It doesn't have the position for the DRL, and the DRL stays on all the time.

No other mods or changes are needed. No reprogramming the computers needed.
