DRL's once again, are we sure I have them?

So I posted this before: How do I know if I have DRLs? pictures are about halfway down the page.

We came to the conclusion that my 4runner has DRLs, now I'm not so sure.

The socket like you guys said seems to be a DRL socket, and it has 3 prongs on the non-bulb side, but the actual connector that hooks into the socket only has 2 wires going into it. Is it possible that someone might have installed DRL sockets into a non-DRL connector?

I'm on my way to the dealer right now, because either way I need to buy new sockets. Apparently the driver's side was worse than the passenger side in that it melted a hole straight through the turn signal housing as well as the bumper shroud around it.

Went to the dealer and the parts guy didn't seem to know much.

The guy in the original thread said he just replaced the socket and that fixed it. I'm hoping that will fix it for me too and it's not the cause(having the wrong socket).

yes i replaced the socket and it solved my issues, brand new bulbs as well

Does your connector only have 2 wires running to it as well?

I've already purchased the new sockets, but I have to go back to the dealer anyways to buy a battery tie down.
