Dual battery question

Today I fabbed up a tray for a dual battery. I already had the red top sitting in the garagee. Eventually I'll replace it with a yellow top but it will be the same size. Everything seems fine but I have this worry always that the battery will touch the hood and short out. It's definitely a tight squeeze compared to the other vehicles I have had dual battery setups in. I don't think it will touch and I feel like there is room but it's hard for me to judge because of course I cant see in there when the hood is closed. What do u guys think?

rotate battery 180 degrees and put back on the hood insulation pad. or buy some sound deadening material like dynamat and stick to the part of the hood that you think will touch. by turning the battery, you are giving the battery posts more room for clearance.

is that tray secured to the fender well? that battery strap is actually fine to hold the battery down.

Put a cover on the positive terminal just like the factor battery

To see if the terminals are actually contacting the hood, you could try this:

Put the plastic cap on the terminal(s). Then put some putty or clay on top of the cap. Close the hood carefully, lift it back up....see if the putty has compressed at all. This will tell you even if the hood has a very slight contact, let alone a more serious amount of weight on the terminal.
