Dual Battery Tray Options

Most people use the IBS monitor. It comes with everything you need and is very reliable. It's a bit pricy though at around $450 if I remember correctly.
 
Hmm yeah after getting a $220 aud ($200 us) quote for a ABR Sidewinder, has anyone come across anything else YET? Man I really don't want to drop that much just for stamped steel. Its a nice tray but man.

I used the original plastic battery tray from the driver's side battery and purchased a longer plastic tray to fit my new main battery from PepBoys for 5 bucks.

There are already battery hold-down holes in front of the air box- albeit they will be a little off-center, they still work perfectly to hold down an aux battery. I laid down an adhesive backed thick rubber mat first : http://www.harborfreight.com/self-adhesive-rubber-safety-step-mat-98858.html ,then the plastic battery tray. Basically it's the exact same setup Toyota uses stock.

The hard part is fabbing up a bracket to hold the P/S reservoir and also a bracket to relocate the A/C lines a little lower. Really not too difficult- and a fun little project if you want to save some cash.

I will take my battery back out and try to get some some better pics of the brackets for ya if you want!

Thanks! I saw your post, its was what inspired me to start on this! I figured it would take me a bit buying pieces here and there, instead of dropping a ton of cash up front. I am not in any rush (couple months before april), apart from some bolts ons, I would rather think it out and do it right the first time. I want to do this then hard mount a compressor. LOL I have screwed my last few trucks in one way or another by not taking my time :D

I have no problem fab'ing up a relatively simple bracket, pics would certainly be a great guide but only if you have the time, I don't want to impose.

I would be glad to pay for a decent tray especially if I support the neighborhood. If I were to go that route, it just seems for $200 I could whip up a cad, hit up a local shop, and get something CNC'd. It seems pretty last resort to me though.

EDIT: had to take another route as at the time I posted I didn't realize I had smog gear in the way. I went with a size 31 single battery tray.

I just installed the Shockworks kit this weekend. No need to change the washer fluid reservoir, I have a '16.

With some work you can fit a pelfrey tray near the passenger firewall. I did it on my so I could run dual group 31s.
