dual transfer cases

I thought the 3.0 didn't come in the 4runners until sometime in 87?

It did. Pretty sure he has a 90. Edit: he does!

Yes that is me with the engine replacement. I have never taken this out. I bought it with the blown engine and all the parts on. I was told that it was 4.29s i havent pulled the diffs yet to see what they actually are. it is a manual trans with manual hubs and i am going to do a SBC swap for the engine and keep the stock trans

Well with a sbc, you wont need gearing to make up for HP. So heres the next thing to think about. If you choose axle gears you may have to ge gear your front twice. Iif you ever plan (and this may be opening up another can of worms) a solid axle swap, you wont be able to re use your front gears and would have to buy a matching set for the new axle.

First and foremost though, get your engine fixed.

Im planning my build in stages since i am on a limited budget and have no garage just a 10x10 shed and a gravel parking strip on the side my house that i rent. I am planning a SAS swap with a ford 9" and a dana something or other in the front. Was thinking about using full size axles so it has the t-maxx look to it. I have never built a 4x4 before so thats why im asking about all these parts and the only toyota i built was my buddies celica which was pretty badass.

stage 1. engine swap and interior (SBC racing seats and harnesses)

stage 2. running gear (straight axle swap beefed up tranny and dual cases)

stage 3. exterior (exo, bumpers, and sliders)

Probably will cost a nice shinny one but im planning to do as much of it myself as i can my builder already has home made nerf bars on it so im just going to modify them a little to make them stick out from the truck even on is closer than the other and it looks ugly so imma fix that and i got some old metal signs from work that im going to triple up so they are thick weld them together to make a plate to use as a rock slider/skid plate on the sides it all looks good on paper i hope it all goes good as i do it but i will be posting lots of pics as it get built so it will be on here im going to go pick up the engine and start building it next week ill be happy if i come in under 5000 on the total build since i bought the truck for 100 i have a lot of wiggle room on part

triple stick shifter

who else besides northwest fab offers a triple stick shifter assembly? I have bought and installed and re installed not 1 but 2 trident shifters and they both leak from center shift stick through the nylon bushings. an oil slinger would help BUT unlike every other shifter the oil slinger needs to be rectangular and not round, thereby making the oil slinger usueless
