Dually flush mounts in rear bumper

Hey guys! I am wondering if anyone has ever tried mounting a pair of Rigid dually flush mounts into the high points on both sides of the rear bumper, parallel to the 4Runner badge (you might have a hard time seeing it in the pic below because it's plastic-dipped black). I tried a few searches but came up with zilch.

According to Rigid's website the lights measure almost 5" wide, just wondering if the curvature of the bumper will prevent proper installation. I guess I could mount them on their side.

I am thinking the flood specter would make for some awesome reverse lights. I have a pair of D2's already installed upfront on CBI ditch brackets and they easily drown out the high beams, very impressive. For the rear I will go with just the regular 4 LED Duallys.

So, has anyone done this!

I really don't think flush mount dually's would fit without having a gap from the curve but you never know until you try. If you want as much light as a dually than try to fit the flush mount srq somewhere. You can get those in diffused for reverse lights or any and all of the other optics they offer. I went with srm's a year ago. I like them and they work great but of course it's always hard to want more. I'd love to swap them out with srm2 driving ones to see the difference but I like the size of the housing

I've been thinking about doing this to both 4runners. Good reverse lights can really help out, especially offroad.

I usually do this mod to my pick-up trucks and it is awesome.

Thanks for responding! I like the SRM's that you have, but wonder if they could be mounted a bit higher up on the inward corner closer to where your Toyota emblem is.

My rear bumper is pretty beat up from backing into things, so maybe I will use it as an experimental prototype to see if the Duallys will work. As you said, the more light the better!

I think it may work but see how much flexibility you have before your tightening the screws or you may split the whole because its close to the square you have to cut out. It may work out nice on the curve because it would throw more light to the corners for your side mirrors

Yep. I'm thinking the same thing. I am going to order them and when they are installed I'll post up some output pics.
