Picked up an 06 v8 limited 4wd with 132k miles a few days ago
This is going to be my daily driver built for some off-road fun but nothing extreme by any means, however I do want to do everything right the first time

Took delivery of my lift kit the other day, it will be getting put on this coming Tuesday. My coopers and wheels showed up as well.
And today I mounted a shovel on my roof with the mounts I bought a while ago got the coming snow season

Lift kit gets put on today! I decided not to have the extra 1/4" top plate spacer installed but otherwise Ill have
JBA UCA's
Blistein/eibach coilovers with wheelers 1/2" top plate spacer for both sides
Sway bar relocate
Front differential drop
Superflex HD Rear springs with blistein 5100 shocks
and for tires Cooper ST max 255/80/17 with mb 352 wheels in 17x9

Lift kit is all installed and I love it! The ride is firm but not harsh and the suspension absorbs bumps supremely well! I am running no rear sway bar and i can just barely tell that i don't have it. The 620 pound springs seem perfect for the V8 engine. The Alignment guy had no issues with the JBA UCA's and everything was in spec when i left the shop. I will take it back in a week or so for another alignment.
My measurements for the lift are from the ground to the highest point of the fender arch, I took before measurements from hub to center as well but i forgot what they are now...

I had to remove my front mud flaps and trim the bulge off the fender liner on both sides as well. And it looks like a may end up borrowing a cutoff wheel from somebody to do the body mount chop on both sides. I think I will be running into some rubbing on it when turning with the suspension flexed. I may also still end up pushing my fender liner forward an inch or so.
This is all things I sort of hoped I would avoid but pretty much planned to have to do.
All in all I have to say I love the look and the ride. Now i just wish I could find a way to take pictures that do justice to the actual size of the car

Moved my drivers side fender liner foreward about an inch and a half, trimmed the passenger side some more so I seemingly have completely eliminated rubbing, even and full lock in reverse. Also disabled my tpms system today since the light has been flashing in my dash since before the lift was installed due to bad sensors. I monitor my tire pressure closely enough that I don’t feel I absolutely need the system any ways.... hardest part for me was handling those small wires in the cold weather

Now I’m trying to decide what I want for a “Christmas present”
A hi lift jack with a base plate and some recovery gear
The rigid metal Molle panels from Rago Fabrication
Or a set of ditch lights and reverse auxiliary led lights

Coming up on my next day off will be an oil change, new windshield wiper fluid and new front and rear wipers

Got a nice picture taken in the snow storm we’re having here in Northern Maine
These Cooper tires I have are absolutely wonderful in the snow whether it’s hard packed on roads or powder or just a thin covering on the asphalt! I have total confidence in this rig but I know better than to be overconfident still.
I’m working on tracking down a thud from the rear right side currently. Once it warms up some more that is..... I’m gonna start with making sure everything is tight and if that doesn’t fix it I’ll have to re-evaluate

Got a 60” all cast hi lift jack as a birthday present today!
Now I just have to figure out where I’m gonna put it in the car... I know 60” is 5 feet and all but somehow I wasn’t expecting it to be this big

Figured out how I’m going to mount my 60” high lift jack on the stock roof rack!
I’m gonna is my set of Yakima 23h universal mounts and a set of quick fist mounts on the Yakima
If I take the base plate off the jack it will perfectly clear the roof
I’ll post up some pictures when I get the quick fist mounts in and everything installed

Not the greatest pictures ever because it’s dark out but I got my 60” hi lift jack and a shovel mounted to my stock roof rack by attaching the standard size quick fist clamps to yakima 23h universal mounts
The hi lift has the base plate removed and fits perfectly or this way
All I need to do is order some specialty 10” or so long u bolts so that I can secure it a little better from the average joe who may come along and decide it’s a good looking jack and also make it a touch more stable on the top of the car
Also need to get a sleeve to cover the mechanical portion of the jack since the roads up here get so nasty
Shovel I’m not so worried about security so I’ll just be leaving it how it is in the quick fist mounts

Ordered the Fumoto f103N valve a lever for the valve and some plastic tubing off of amazon. Will be installing them on my next oil change. I am currently using wix 51348xp oil filter but was thinking about upgrading to the 51516xp oil filter and adding some magnets to it and my oil pan as well. Any feedback on how the 51516xp filter works? I haven't seen anything documenting that it actually fits on the V8 4R.

Thanks! I honestly got them cause they’re on the cheaper end of the spectrum
The only issue with them so far is that they didn’t seem to balance too well so my car is minimally shaky
You don’t notice it a whole lot
But on occasion l notice that the steering wheel is wobbling quite a bit

Did my oil change today at around 1700 miles since my last oil change. I changed the filter out as well. I did it early because I didn’t buy enough oil last time and had to reuse almost a quart of the old oil. I ended up going with Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic extended performance even tho I have no intention of going beyond 4K miles per change. And I used a wix 51516xp filter. This is the larger size filter than the 51348xp. It fit without a problem on my car.
I also installed my fumoto f103n valve.
I used a little more than 6.5 quarts of oil with the larger filter. I have 4 ounces left in my last 1 quart bottle.

Its time for me to start chasing a squeak/chirping sound that sounds almost like a squeaky hamster wheel and only happens when I go over small bumps in a straight line. Ill be picking up some green grease today for my driveline and UCA. Ive sprayed white lithium grease on the bushings on each end of the long bolt of the UCA but I have a feeling thats not doing a whole lot of good and I dont have the time to take everything apart being that this is my only vehicle. I ran the car through the wash yesterday and sprayed off the suspension and the squeak was gone for about 75 miles. I have a feeling its because the road is so dusty and salty with no precipitation that the fine particles are getting everywhere.

I greased the UCA's with green grease. Lubed up the drive shaft. loosened the bolts for my lower trailing arms and sprayed silicone on them and tightened everything back up and the squeal was still there. Until somebody posted in my question thread that the exhaust hangers can squeal. On a whim I figured Id check them and see. I would never have thought to check that but they were the culprit. I sprayed everything with silicone and/or white lithium and the squeal is thankfully GONE.

ONTO new projects. I replaced the blower motor for my AC unit with one off amazon for $40 and my AC no longer clicks. I actually forgot how nice it it to drive without that constant noise.
I will be moving from Maine back to Florida at the beginning of May and Im thinking i probably should jump on some maintenance stuff before I go. Im thinking I need to change diff and transferase fluid and drain and fill the transmission as well. Ill also be needing a new radio as my Aux input is taking a dump and only plays sound through the passenger side of the vehicle regardless of what aux cord or phone is used. Normal FM radio plays sound fine. And i definitely have no intention of driving 1700 miles being held captive by the radio stations.

Installed a KENWOOD Dmx905s in recently along with full idatalink. That turned into quite a project for me since I was working at my dads house but ended up having to use a desktop at a friends house to setup idatalink since apparently my laptop with windows 10 pro isn’t compatible so I spent 2 days driving around with no radio.
I installed the Bluetooth mic in the head panel right next to the overhead sunglasses holder by popping that panel down and poking a hole in the fabric, that location seems to work great and I haven’t had any noise complaints even at highway speeds
I also took my front seats out to vacuum under them. That was easier than I imagined and only took about 45 minutes for the whole project.
Now I’m getting ready to replace all my brake pads- I’ve developed a severely annoying low speed only (less than 8mph) grinding that seems to be coming from the front right. It’s present with or without brake application but it actually goes away over 10 mph- the noise isn’t just drowned out but gone. And these pads I got squeal like a stuck pig. I’m sure my winter in Maine did quite a number on the pads with all the dirt they drop on the roads
I’m thinking about going with a ceramic pad this time since I’m back in Florida and cold weather performance isn’t a worry anymore

Just some quick pictures I took at m dads farm a while back. I’ve started pharmacy school so I’m not doing a whole lot and don’t have a whole lot of money to spend right now because I didn’t qualify for student loans
Recently replaced license plate lights with LED bulbs and put the H9 bulbs in low beams after I’ve had nothing but shit experiences with my morimoto low beam HID systems and I just don’t have the money to keep buying new parts or a new system every 6 months
Really just wish I had a way to get some nice deep cleaning done on the car to get some scratches fixed up and get a nice wax job done

Missing my old 6.0 just a little bit recently, sometimes wish I hadn’t sold it because it was just so much fun
