I was looking at the Revos at Costco and they asked me if I wanted the LT or P series tires... which one did I want? and what's the difference(s)?

edit: I checked another tire store and it said Light Truck All Terrain..... those guys at costco screwed up?

Can we use and LT rated tire on the 4Runner? That would be a lot tougher of a tire, that's for sure.

P265/65R17 - this size ONLY comes in P series and no LT.

I think the LT rating is a little misleading. If I'm not mistaken this tire is meant for carrying loads and more meant for pick-up trucks. I believe the sidewall is stiffer which alows it to carry a load better but the ride will be much harsher than a Passenger or "P" rated tire.

I've checked at least 3 times, and no LT is offered in the stock size. I think they said this is due to not having enough sidewall width.

Yes, LT ride harder, but are nice to have offroading to protect against sidewall puncture.
