LOL thats only cuz I was too lazy to run the CB all the way across the cabin... if you go back to when I installed the CB, the little box is underneath my seat with my amp and all the wires run thru the firewall at the same spot.

I may be doing some rewiring, but now that tab is welded on there, I would have to bug Gerdo or Glen or CSL to get me a tab on the passenger side, but I think I like being the rebel.

I actually dont have the measurements, I checked with my buddy Brad who did the design for me on his 3d design program and he no longer has the measurements.

it is made to fit right between the wheel wells and go back to fit right against the seat. its deep enough to have a nice storage box a storage area and my 12" sub.

I love how you took a quote from a different thread and brought it over here to start crap! LOL

So today I did a few things with the runner in prep for Moab.

Last week I was up at China wall with a few of the guys (hence where that last quote came from) and I got stuck on the wall on a bad line. I tried to back down it but my trailer hitch and bumper took away my angle to where I couldnt get off the rock.

I ended up having to be pulled up by Sn0wrunner.

So I thought about it a bit and decided that I would rather have no bumper than the bumper and trailer hitch I currently have.

I talked with Gerdo and decided to get some scrap metal and see what I could come up with as a replacement.

this is what I did for 35$ a couple of burnt toes and a little metal cutting and prep.

Thanks to Gerdo for helping me every step of the way, letting me use his tools and welding the initial welds.

Ill have the final welds done tomorrow and then paint it black like my front bumper and sliders.

Bumper is done, big thanks to Glen Yoshida, he finished the welds, added a couple tabs to slide the bumper on so it stays while you bolt it up, and added recovery points.

I also got it painted.

Its not much but I love it. Metal cost me 35$

oh, and Glen cut back my tailpipe so its out of the way so it doesnt get banged up 4wheeling.

I messed up my Bumper on the wall too :lol: Thats one run I want to do again when I go back to denver for a couple weeks.

It's simple but it adds protection. Next Shon will want me to wrap down the sides, then add a brace back to the frame, then...

The start of my bumper looked almost the same. It stayed that way for a few years. Shon I bet you gained ~6"-8" in back.

Hey man, I really like your storage drawer/sleeping platform. I want to do something similar, but have two drawers instead of the one big one. Would you happen to have the dimensions of just the box laying around anywhere? I was also wondering where you got the rails for the drawer to slide out on?

Unfortunately I dont have the measurements... The box was designed by my friend Brad and he had the measurements. Brad and I built it, but I didnt really have the measurements myself.
I can and will take some as you are not the first one to ask.

I used slides from Home Depot. They are plenty strong and deep for what Im doing with mine. If you dont have a sub box, you will probably have deeper drawer slides and will need some that might carry more weight.
I think the ones I got at HD were like 15$ each and are rated for 100lbs or 200lbs or something...

Ill PM you when I measure it. If I dont get back to you in a few days, PM me to remind me...

Alright man, thanks a lot. I do want a sub, but I might use that area for an onboard air system instead. I don't really want a compressor to be out in the elements, so it might be a good spot for one. Thanks again, I appreciate it.

not sure if you noticed but if you build a box just like mine with the sub enclosure, there is another box right next to it.

Its perfect for onboard air. I havent gotten a Co2 tank yet, but its perfect for one. or spare parts like a cv etc.

Yeah i do see that. I guess I need to figure out how much room that would take up. I want to go with a compressor and a tank, so I'm not sure how much room that will actually take up. I do like how your sub is built in like that though. It definitely beats throwing another box on top for a sub. Hopefully I can play around with the sizing and make it work out.
