Dumb question but....

Just got a new 4Runner today. If I leave on the map light (ie. push the button) and I lock the doors and walk away will it kill the battery? I’m not going to be happy if it doesn’t auto shut off the lights. I left it in on earlier and was still on after about a minute before I realized I left it on.

It’s a matter of time... 2 hours, nope. Overnight? Maybe not, but possible.

I think (correct me if i'm wrong) but the map lights go off after a certain amount of time.

Mine doesn't go off in my 2011. Left it on one night and in the morning it was still on. Haven't tried it in my 2018 yet.

Yes they auto turn off but once you restart they turn back on.
