Well, I don't have C or E, I have D in the 285 70 R17. . .

I'm currently running the D load range. My second set waiting to go on are also D load range.

Could it be that the reason you are both running load range "D" is that the Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac LT285/70R17 that you both claim to be running is available only in load range "D"?

As others have said in this thread, they are running C's so the Duratrac does come in other ratings.

In 285/70/17 it is only available in D range. In 265/70/17 it is available in C or E.
I have run 265Cs, 285Ds, and 1 265E (tire shop mistake) that I use as a spare.

Oh, I see now. I was under the impression that there were multiple load ranges throughout the sizes.

My Duratracs are C load stock size, run them at 36 psi and so far I'm quite happy with them.

I really like how mine look, the truck looks a lot better now too.

Discount Tire did NOT balance them correctly as I discovered on the highway today. The steering wheel has a terrible vibration at 55+ and the seats are shaking too so I need to take it back and have them try again.

Well Discount Tire did allegedly balance the Cs correctly today but they snapped a lug nut. I'm not screwing around anymore so Lexus(I've always had great service from them) will be fixing this issue and checking the torque on every single other bolt with Discount picking up the bill.

When they were putting on new tires for me, they snapped one of the bolts on the tire. Then they refused to replace it. When I came back with a new bolt they refused too put it on. Guessing some legal crap is the reason why! Really pissed me off.

They gave me the info for Brakes Plus and said they'll take care of it but I called back later and told them I'm either using Lexus or Toyota. The first guy gave me some grief about it but once the GM got on the phone he said he understands and would give me the cash when I brought in the repair bill.
