Over the weekend, I came across the GY Duratracs in the above referenced sizes. Is anyone running these tires yet? I had researched these sizes before but they weren't available so they might be new in the market. I should emphasize that they are not the LT C or E rated tires. :flypig:

Thanks, I had tried the Google search but nothing came up. I guess I'm using the wrong keywords. I'm about sell some OEM tires I had, once that goes through I'll be giving my local GY shop a visit to check the Duratracs out. I have the 2013 wheels for sale if anyone's interested.

Hi T4R,
Like you, when I bought my 2012 limited, I sold the stock Yokohama "Horse & buggy" wheels (right away!) and upgraded to some much better rubber. I'm not sure if this is relevant to your question, but I'm running on a set of 275/55 R20 GdYr Eagle LS-2's; "stock limited rims and no lift". I have no problem w/these tires, however... if I crank the steering wheel hard while hitting an entrance ramp I can get a very mild liner rub; not enough to do anything about. Here's a shot of these tires mounted:
I was so glad I did this in the end. I was able to get all four tires w/mount & balancing for $760.oo. Then there's an $80.oo mail-in rebate from GdYr (think there still is). I was also able to get $400.oo for my original tires which had 3,000 mi on them at the time that they were removed. So I spent $280 dollars in the end; you'll likely do fine as well if your tires still have very low mileage, good luck!

Thank you Rigtec for your post (I totally agree with your signature) :amen:. I had come across other posts with people installing this same size on the stock limited wheels, but not the GY Duratracs. I also came across several threads mentioning how you should also take into consideration the specific tire pattern even when your dealing with the same size (275/55/20). The Duratracs are sold as an all-terrain tire but definitely look tougher when compared to other all terrain tires many people here run with (Terra Grapplers) on the stock limited wheel. I have only seen one other member on the forum with the GY Duratracs on the limited wheel but they were the LT and a slightly bigger size (end result = Daystar lift + body mount chop :jaw: ) which more then i nned or want for my application. I'm still pending the sale of my stock tires but it's nice to know how big of a bite I can take off the new tire cost by just selling the current ones and replacing them.
If I decide against the Duratracs, I will more than likely just get a highway tire like yours since the 4Runners are still very capable.

I do totally agree w/that signature too; hoping certain others here will attempt it's implementation! The reason that I decided against some of the more aggressive tread patterns is the added noise and drag; causing poorer gas mileage. The GdYr Eagle is a good compromise between the two... and demonstrate superior road manners on curves, and at higher speeds. It is also the stock tire on the "Escalade, Yukon, Suburban... etc". Best to you!

I'm new to this forum as i just ordered a new 2014 LE and i'm very interested in swapping the stock pizza cutters out for some 275 55 20 Duratracs. I have searched this forum and can find guys running these tires on lifted rigs or smaller rims but i would really like to know if i can run them on my stock 20"rims without any "major"rubbing issues. I'm just worried with the larger lugs versus the Nittos or other less aggressive tires that i may have some issues. Any body out there running the 275 55 Duratracs on the stock LE 20" rims without any mods please speak up.
I run the Duratracs on my personal Dodge 3500 and my work truck and have nothing but good things to say about them so i would really like to put them on my new ride aswell. And yes i have read the countless threads about the 7" rims that Toyota was so happy to put on these SUV's and have decided to chance a larger spec-ed tire for 7.5"rim.

Someone here is running 275/55 R20 Nittos, stock rims, no lift w/o an issue. Their truck looked really good with those on it but I'd be concerned about tire noise @ higher speeds... just can't remember which thread I was looking at; lots of posts about tires on these forums!
If you do a search, try putting in: "275/55 R20 Nittos, on stock rims", you'll likely find what you're looking for!

Nice, it's been awhile. How was the noise? How did they wear?
