DuraTrac tires

Any other comments on mpg drop with Duratrac's? I have 265/70/16 Michelin's now and am considering 265/75/16 load range C Duratrac's but don't want to sacrifice alot of mpg. My other options are 265/70/16 General Grabber AT2 or or BFG AT's. Goodyear does not make the duratrac in the stock 4 runner size.

they do sell the 265/70/16 in bfg at but it comes at an price,

I had an set before i switched over to duratracs.. but that was 4 years ago...

I got mine about 2 months ago and can't be happier.. I was going to switch to 265/75/16 bfg at but it only comes in load range E's.

I got mine for $180 an piece.. but I also opt out for the warranty.. it might be more but totally worth it.. I had 2 blows out on my other car and the warranty paid itself.. I rather shell out the $30 for the warranty now then paying for another $200 dollar tire..

for mileage wise, I actually got a bit better.. on highway, I'm avg almost 22-23 mpg..

Looks like you guys are right - they don't make a Duratrac for a 265/70/R16.

I currently run BFG Rugged Trails, T/A.

I got the 285/75-16 duratracs and the mileage definetly went down but it was sooooo worth it.

Duratracs are at the top of my short list right now for the spring when I get new tires. A friend of mine got some when they first came out and he loves them- eventually everyone else in his shop started running them too with similar satisfaction. I was considering the MTRs but I think those are a bit more extreme than what I need.

I've heard the MTR's are hard to balance as well. Haven't heard of any issues with the Duratrac's though. Kinda hard to go wrong with the Duratrac's really.

Report/update after 8K miles in 14 months

Here are mine with a little mars dust on them...ha.

Best "all around" tire IMO, small decrease in MPG, and a little soft in ride with a lift.
