Just bought a new set for the trailer today and compared to the ones on the 4R with 25,000 miles on them.

Brand new: ~1.3cm of tread

Used 25k miles: ~1.0cm of tread

That's pretty good though. Not much wear.

Do you know what the recommended depth to quit using them is? I know most tires have a wear bar, but I haven't noticed one on my DuraTracs.

If you have an Americas Tire near you and want to buy local, they will price match. When I bought mine a year and a half ago I called all over and checked online. The best price was 4wheel parts. Took the quote to Americas Tire and they price matched with no issues. I paid $700 M&B for 265/75/16.

And yes, after 15k I am still happy with them.

They are both LT 265/70R17 E load range (112/109Q).

Couldn't find anything about when to replace, goodyear's site just says to do the penny trick. Also, I can't see the wear bars in any pictures I have. I'll take a look when I go out and see if I can find the wear bars.

i have 285's. great tire, they work great everywhere.

I like the look of them sticking out just a bit, rather than totally inside the wheel well or whatever.

most of the guys on here use wheel spacers to space the wheels out a little more and keep the stock rims. i opted for some procomp rims to get the job done.

Ahhhh...great thread. I'm getting ready to do order my Toytec Ultimate today (just waiting for my discount code) along with my LR UCA's. Was contemplating between 265's and 285's, but I think the 285's are the choice based on 984RunnerSR5's ride. Looks like mine but white and different bumper. Going to be running stockers and spacers as well. Woot! Thanks for the great pics guys!

Addicted Offroad has them for 79.99 a pair. I would go with them. Otherwise spidertrax and all-pro have spacers.

everyone seems to go with the spidertrax. 1.25" spacers. im pretty sure they will work with the stock lugs. everything you need should come with the spacers

The kind of flares and also the wheel you have make a difference in how wide the tire sticks out.

For example a 285 on a 4runner with no flares will stick out a lot more than the same tire on a 4runner with the Limited flares. Also some wheels will sit closer in so the tire will be more tucked in as well.
