DVD aftermarket replacement 4Runner 2011 - Astrium

Does anyone in the forum has info/experience with the direct replacement DVD navigation unit offer by Astrium GEE-1517?

The pictures look good as well as the functions description notes but I want to know if anyone has acquired one of this and installed on a 2010-2012 4Runner?

Honestly I think you would be better off going with these types of products.

WhiskeyCop thanks for the info. I know about those units but I was looking to see if anyone had try the other device.

I really want a better Navigation system. Updating the Toyota unit cost $250 for the latest DVD upgrade and to be honest, the navigation interface is not that great. I don;t want to loose the controls of the steering wheel and if you mount any other DVD like the Pioneer that you recommended, the steering wheel controls will not work.

Lets see if anyone else has experience with the replacement unit that can be connected to the controls on the steering.

Did you end up installing this unit in your 4Runner? I can't find where anyone has actually installed it, and I'm trying to find some feedback before deciding to go with it.

Not sure if it was the Astrium unit, I think it was, but there was a complete thread on it, including changing the knobs out to match the stock toyota knobs so it looks like it came from the factory that way.
