So, I have a Pioneer Avh-x3500bhs double-din DVD receiver that has suddenly quit loading cd's/dvd's correctly. It will pull them in, start clicking repeatedly, then eventually eject them out. Without even trying to put a disc in, every time I turn on the ignition the unit tries for a solid 3 minutes or so to eject a disc out that isn't there.
My question is, has anybody opened one of these things up to repair? If so, how difficult is it? I called a "Pioneer" approved repair shop (the closest to me being in Chicago), and they're suggesting that with the diagnostic fee, shipping and repairs, I'm looking around $250ish. That's just in the range to make me think about a different unit since this one was ~$500ish new. That said, if I can fix it myself, I'd much rather go that route.
