DVD Receiver JVC or Pioneer?

So I finally installed it yesterday and they finished installing everything late last night. Gotta tell you, loving the Pioneer double DIN. Oh btw, I did decide to go w/ the 3800 instead. Haven't had the chance to test everything out yet though.

youll enjoy it, i have tried the app radio, it looked good. but i did use my dad iphone to it. my girls samsung s7 didnt work with it, common bug i see in the review. worked fine on my lg v10.
so how much price difference was from 2800 to 3800?

I bought a Pioneer AVH-X2800BT on Amazon that arrived today. The wire harness adapter that I bought that said it would work with my truck actually wont work with my truck, so I'm at a standstill with it until tomorrow, but as soon as I get it going, I'll let you know how it works.

what toyota harness do you need? the regular standard radio uses the common toyota plug, if its jbl its different.

About $60. I decided to just purchase ot through the shop instead so I'll be covered if anything happens and I don't have to pay extra for them to remove it and more money to send to pioneer to fix. Bluetooth works great for me but for some reason it was kinda buggy for my wife's iPhone when she was trying to connect

newest firmware is the 8.18. you can update it yourself or have the shop do it.

Oh one other thing, do you know what type or brand USB stick you're using? I was watching some videos about how certain USB sticks doesn't work w/ the Pioneer USB port when trying to update, play music or download your own photo to use as the background screen?

Take any usb stick. Format that on Windows fat32 style and use.

At this point I'm not really sure. LOL. The truck is a 1997. The first one I bought is one of the Scosche TA021's that says on the package it'll fit every Toyota from 1981 and up, and on the back of the package it says it'll fit 4Runners from 1984 to like 2002, and 2002 to like 2009 without the JBL. But I went to plug it into the factory harness and the pins don't line up.

i think you remove the amp behind the radio, and youll find the standard toyota plug.

naw, shell love the 3800, right now im surprising my lady with that, a upgrade from the fh-x820bs. also i just bought 2 10 jl to replace the rockford 15 in the camry, many i tell you i got more trunk space back and a little louder bass now.

My wife is loving her radio. She was a little pissed at first but after showing her what it could do, that went away real quick. Yeah as far as subs go, that is definitely in the future. I might go w/ this sub called Atomic that one of the owners of the shop was showing me. It was one 8 inch sub but man, was that sub booming. Shaking his whole caddy like there were at least a minimum of two 10 inch subs in there.

You think so. I like the bass that came out of the 8" sub in the ported box, but knowing my wife, she likes the clarity of the music better with some bass and not car rattling. I was leaning towards a sealed type enclosure but we will see when the time comes. I still need to upgrade my son's stereo and speakers on his Honda Accord and now my driver's side tweeter is rattling too so I'm most likely going to have to replace that.

Do you have any recommendations on a decent tweeter brand to replace a 14 year old Diamond Audio tweeters but nothing to expensive so my wife won't kill me?

Haha. Yeah don't want to push my luck on that. My old aftermarket speakers are still sounding good. No crackling. Just my driver's side tweeters. I'm afraid if I do, I might be stepping down on quality and performance since I can't remember the specs on my old Phoenix Gold speakers.

old high end phoenix gold speakers the ti series uses morel speakers and tweeters i think. i think you can just find the morel tweeters. i need more funds for myself too, i want to do a 3 way setup on the front.
