Dyna Bead for balancing?

I was going to try them, but never did. That said, I think I will try them with my next set of tires, whether they are 285's or just 265's.

I have been looking at the same thing. What I have seen though is you can use air soft pellets and get the same result. May want to look into that route first if you can get the tire to unseat on the bead enough to make it work. would be way cheaper than 20 a pop for the dynabeads.
My beadlocks will be getting them as there is no way im gonna try to balance 100lbs of rubber and expect them to stay balanced with static weights.
Some people say that beads work for balancing and others do not. I tried it once and did not like the results. I used airsoft pellets and used a certain weight based on a chart that I found. My setup was 35" mickey thompson baja claws on 15x10 aluminum wheels. The beads did okay for driving around in a straight line but as soon as I hit a bump or went around a turn, all the beads would go nuts. Going around a turn at 45mph on a light weight lifted vehicle with all 4 tires suddenly losing their balance is scary to say the least. Now that was my worst case scenario. Most of the time the tires would be fine except for hitting the occasional bump in the road and it would wobble for a bit until the beads balanced the wheels again. Then there was an issue with all the beads making a bunch of noise at slow speeds... that was annoying. Overall, I wasn't happy with the beads and I took them out and used the lead weights. Every 6 months or so I'll have to re-balance my wheels. I do my own tire work so that's an easy 30 minute job for me.

Figured I would bring this thread back.
Any luck on the dynabeads yet?
Hoping to get the beadlocks mounted in the next few months and would be interested to see how you like them so far.

Enyone knowing basic physics will tell you that dynabeads can't work even theoretically. Otherwise every tire shop will be promoting them and Toyota selling them as an option.
TPMS is another concern, idea of a bunch of weighs moving around freely and hitting that sensor is questionable.

Who said anything about them being for a 4th or 5th gen 
The 3rd gens don't have TPMS.
I have talked to a lot of people running them and are very happy with them. Most wheel on a very regular basis.
With larger tires it gets harder and harder to keep them balanced for extended periods of time. Pending if they are Bias or Radial, if the weather is hot or cold, etc. When you air down a lot for wheeling, Your tire will slip a little on the wheel every time you do. This causes those static weights to be shifted slightly from where they need to be everytime you air down.
I have had this happen a lot in the past where a tire shop rebalanced my tires only to shift over the weight on the wheel about an inch.
A dynamic balance would allow the normal effects of constant aired down wheelin to not affect the balance of the tire because it is a "fluid" balancing, meaning it can change location regardless of the relation of wheel to tire.
Also when tire gets chunked up from rocks this will change your balance needed. If you wheel a lot of sharp rocks, (Arizona for example) you will see how brutal they can be on tires and that can mean perfect balance on the way to the trail and death wobble on the way home.
Toyota doesn't use them because for what the average consumer uses their vehicle for, its not as needed. Plus tire shops don't want to mess with spilling beads all over the place everytime they have to change a tire.
My beadlocks can be mounted in my garage so I will be the only one to have my hands on them. If I never had to go to a tire shop again I would be thrilled. I have rarely left a tire shop without a shimmy in the steering wheel from unbalanced tires.

the TPS system probably wouldn't like the bead hitting the sensors on a regular basis.
Unless you no longer have the sensors, I wouldn't consider bead balancing.

I never did get some but I will be looking into getting some air soft bb's this month some time. They're a lot cheaper than the dyna beads. I have a local buddy running air soft bb's in his 35s and bead locks and he says they work great.

Good to know. Ya when talking to the guys at the local offroad shop, they all said to just use air soft pellets. One runs them on his audi A8 and had great luck with them on that as well.

Grant it you won't be able to pour them in from the stem but the dyna beads for oversized tires are too big to go in that way anyways. Just make sure there is no moisture on the inside of the tire. The plastic bb's can stick to the moisture especially when cold. That's why you pay more for dyna beads because they're ceramic and have no chance of sticking no matter what condition on the inside of the tire.

oh for sure. I would drop them in when mounting the tire on the wheel. I hadn't thought about the moisture. Airsoft BB's should be large enough not to worry too much about that though right?

I might be interested in trying these out. I'm sick of always heading back to the tire shop for balancing issues.

Hey robert. You would have to unseat the bead to put them in. Or you can use the passenger car ones that just drop through the valve stem. When i get my beadlocks i will be using airsoft bb's instead due to cost. I can give you my impressions 1st hand if you want. You can take a ride in my runner when all is said and done
