E-Brake Light?

E-Brake light is staying on when I first start the engine. Happens even more on colder days. The brake isn't on, but the light stays on for like an hour whilst driving. sensor? whats up?

Can't like this post from my phone but he's right. Chances are pads are wearing near replacement and the fluid level has dropped to compensate.

You have a sensor in your brake reservoir that will kick on the E-Brake light when the brake fluid drops to low.

We're aware. The light has two functions. One lets you know the e brake is on, the second is a low fluid idiot light. It should be in your manual.

And if on with a Charge light tells us when we have an alternator problem.:sad:

Btw, if the fluild is dark, you might wanna bleed the brakes till it clears up while adding new fluid so there's no air in the lines.
You can take it to any shop to do it if you're not up to it.

I checked the fluid a few weeks ago and it read just above the minimum mark. Then , I just checked it yesterday and it was almost overflowing. I never added any at any point. Also, now, intermittently the brakes will make a bit of a grinding sound when I'm coming to a stop..

at least the brake light doesn't stay on? lol
