E Brakete tension

Yes, there should be a tensioner under the center console for the ebrake handle itself. With age they loosen up to the point you can partially engage it by lifting the handle with your pinky finger, despite the brake itself working fine. Ironically I just looked into this the other day since mine has quite a bit of play after 20 years

Thanks for the reply. I tried to post a photo but it failed.
Mine makes a "Chirping" kinda sound when we're underway.. I can stop the noise by lifting slightly up on the handle(yes, with my pinky) and the minute you stop lifting it chirping again. I'll tighten it up when i have the chance. like you said. it's been 20 years!
