E Rated Tires Opinion

just more money to throw at my rig....on second thought mind shooting me a PM with pics of where it mounts? i'm pretty handy with a welder and i can probably make my own with some DOM tube i have laying around.

Same tires I've been looking at, looking forward to your opinion of them after you get a few more miles on.

What pressure do you have them at?

Still no highway time (Tuesday will tell) but so far I'm still happy with the ride. They really don't feel much stiffer than my C-rated BFGs and they seem to only be stiffer than the P-rated bridgestones in a good way (i.e. they feel more stable in corners and over bumps).

The tire store inflated them to 40 psi but I lowered it to 35 for now and the ride seems a bit better.

I plan to do a chalk test later this week (when I can pick up some chalk) to make sure I'm not causing uneven wear by running them at 35 psi.

edit- I've also been purposely hitting cracks and divots in the road looking for feedback and I'm not getting a ton of feedback, so I don't think they're gonna be too stiff for my taste but as I said, Tuesday I have a lot of driving to do and that will be the best test.

I like em. They're definitely stiffer than Ps or my C-rated BFGs, but not a lot stiffer than the Cs. They certainly don't feel like a dump truck or '70s F-250, as I've seen some people say of E rated tires.

My drive yesterday was about 2 hours each way, mostly highway with some interstate doing 55-75 mph and over half of it is old hwy 82 which is not groomed anywhere near as well as an interstate typically is. In other words it's full of potholes, cracks, and generally worn out asphalt.

I did notice the stiffness but not nearly enough to make me regret my decision. The only time the stiffness bothered me was in spots where there were a bunch of consecutive potholes and cracks within a few inches of one another, but no tire is gonna soak that up well. On the interstate sections I didn't notice them at all.

Now I am used to a full size truck with D & E rated tires, so you may wanna take my input with a grain of salt.

I still need to get some chalk and do a chalk test, but hopefully by this weekend I can do that.

edit- I am seeing about a 1 mpg drop vs. the same size Dueler ATs, but didn't feel the noticeable power loss I felt with the 275/70 GY silent armors. Actually my GF drove a bit and was surprised by how much power the V6 has (she's never really gotten into the throttle before passing a semi in the truck lane yesterday).

Sounds like they arent all that bad, choices are limited for tires on the 18's

I really wish I could get some Cooper Zeon LTZ's but they don't seem to make a size that I could work with. Especially since the shop near me is offering 4 for 3 on cooper tires.
