How would any know

I just picked up a 2016 TE and the only label is the 4runner on the back hatch. There's nothing anywhere that says 4x4, Trail Edition. So how would you know this is a Trail Edition. (yes it's a real TE, has all the 4x4 modes).

With the post 2014 ones, they'll have a hood scoop and different wheels.

the person that owned it before me did a handful of mods and i wondered if they were on these forums, but i have never come across them. ah well.

still love mine! never gets old to look at and its still under 75k miles.

Love seeing the love for the early 5th Gen Trails. I don't see very many around but I always give them a wave when I do. My 2011 Black Trail was a dealer demo I bought in 2012 with 9000KM. It has about 260,000 now. Basically as stuff wears out I do upgrades. Only issue I have with it is the hideous orange radio screen so that will be getting dealt with next. I also wish there was the same aftermarket support for the early trails as the 2014+, but its the price of driving a unicorn.

I felt indifferent before, but in my searching for a 5th gen I found a pretty good deal on my 2013 trail. Its grown on me immensely. I really wish they had stuck with the design and offered the fish gill front on one trim level.

I couldn’t agree more. And then to take it to another level, can someone explain to me why so many want to install Raptor lights To make it look like a Ford?

Just did a polish, wax, clay bar on my 2010. I’ve got plenty of paint chips but overall the paint is still pretty good.
My black plastic parts are shredded with pockmarks, I wonder what the later trucks with painted fenders look like after a 100,000+ miles.

Been modernizing my 2012 TE past year upon convincing self to not trade for latest model. Past month did the FN wheels, USR tail lights, BD ditch lights, Caliraised 22" dual row 5D OSRAM LED Bar, Sprint booster, and dash speaker mod. Very happy with the truck.
