His name is Clownmeat, and I'm pretty sure I've mentioned his name and referenced his rear mount turbo build 100 times already in this thread. And unless I missed something in his build, he IS NOT using anything to modify his AFRs / timing. He's running the same amount of boost as the TRD supercharger, which DOES NOT REQUIRE a tune. I agree, a tune would be highly beneficial, but it's already been proven that it's not 100% required. Now if you go above and beyond the boost PSI that the TRD SC provides, I agree that you should look into tuning. But hey, that's no different than if you run a smaller pulley on the SC... you'll need tuning of some sort.
Now quit your b!tching and GTFO.
So you do agree? there we go, now wasnt that easy?
You said your tired of me whining? Whining like a supachargahhh?? WEEEP WEEEEEEEP!!!
Like I said, the day you actually BUILD something of have the experience in building it, add in your advice. If not, let clownmeat or the person who has it do the talking. You can read this and that from someones thread, but what IF that person didnt include all the horrible things that happened? - simply because they dont want to be targeted on their mistakes or the infamous, "Ive told you so". Listen man, I havent cussed out at you like you've done to me, I just don't want someone to read this and go out there thinking its fine and stuff not discussed actually happens to them. I'm not even raising my tone if you could actually hear how I'm writing this.
I agree with you somewhat, and you agree with me somewhat. The part that I DO AGREE, is yes, Toyota did an amazing job building what we own and that our motors can stoutly handle some additional power of a supercharger/turbocharger.
HOWEVER, this is a TURBOcharging thread, NOT supercharging thread. With a turbocharger, there are multiple pieces to make the puzzle, and to make it run right and reliable. I'm talking about even your exhaust size will affect how much PSI it'll actually run, the manifold, and things for longevity. I've had a turbocharged prelude, and with just increasing my downpipe from 2.5" to a 3", all of a sudden I had a car that ran perfect daily on 7lbs, to a boost spiking son of a gun that was no longer safe for my engine. A 7psi turbo motor WILL NOT have the same dyno sheet, or same HP/TQ digits as a 7psi supercharged motor. There needs to be some tune or fuel management for the turbocharger. A turbo is shoving air into the motor, with more air, there needs to be more fuel, if not, your running lean. We all know too lean is unsafe. Hence, the tune, bigger injectors, fuel pump and so on.
I sure would be concerned for the folks without a BL and routing intercooler piping (maybe it was clownmeat with the 2" BL and the charger piping fitting perfect in the gap). There's A LOT to a turbo setup. I just hope everyone realizes that.
like i said, I'm not yelling at you, or cussing you out like how you've been doing. I could, sure would like to, but it wouldnt help the situation or forum one bit. So i'll take the first step in cooling down.
