Ebay 5vz-fe Turbo

Tokensolutions is actually coming out with a full package for the cxracing kit. It comes with an AEM FIC, pnp harness, fuel pump, and 550 cc injectors. I emailed them when they are coming out with it but I haven't go an email back yet.

550cc injectors seems a bit overkill doesn't it? I'm planning on using 315cc on mine.

I've been calling CXRacing once a week for about the past month or so to see when they will be getting more of these manifolds in stock. Each time I get "we'll have them in stock next week".

If running e85 and if you have the injector compensation I would not say its overkill. I ran 1200cc's on my 400whp application back in the day with some room on the IDC's but still was not overkill. I would say 500cc would be perfect as long as whatever engine management can handle it.

We'll see if its overkill come tax season.

I think even a 450cc injector would be great and have some room to spare. As long as you are not trying to push high boost into a stock 5vz at is. A smaller turbo imo would be best not large t3 60trim .82ar or 35hx Holset turbos. The 5vz is not a high reving high flowing motor and it is not built like a 2jz sadly. A t3t4 50 trim .57ar would be nice, spool up quick for good low end tq and power which is were you want it on a truck/suv, towing and off roading. So with a smaller turbo and low boost 450 to 550 injectors would be plenty, e85 i would go with 750cc at least.

I'm running 318's as I had them from when I was supercharged and I just ran with them. It runs out at 15psi at 5000ft. I would say go a little bigger to be on the safe side.

waiting for pics.... at least of the parts.

Not installed yet.

All that chatter and no one ever got this kit installed that I'm aware of. I've considered it myself, but wanted to see how someone else made out with it to see if it was worth it over the TRD blower on there now pushing 11psi.

Let me enlighten you :)

Not much to look at, but was everything i'd hoped for as far as performace. I've had it installed for 20k+ daily driven miles and was fantastically surprised at its fitment for being so inexpensive.

I planned to do a write up for the pipes, and entire truck, at some point. Not satisfied quite yet so i'll still hold off :)

Wow, so it's not just a Unicorn system after all!

I saw one other installation and the guy had all kinds of troubles with the down pipe and I guess the lack of exhaust flow throwing off the tune and some codes. How'd you make out there? He ended up modding the down pipe to go back in to the exhaust ahead of the cat I believe with some custom work to solve it.

Did you have a SC before? Curious on the power difference.

I had no intentions of using the stock exhaust at all, i had pre-bought a bunch of 3" piping, resonator, muffler and 3" v band flanges. I bolted up all the hot pipes, drove with an open downpipe for a few days then finished up the rest of the exhaust. I ended up side exiting it to save work & wieght.

I did not have a supercharger. Straight from NA to turbocharged. I never gained any strange codes nor running problems. Coolant temps, intake temps all good. AFRs stayed 14.5 ish to 1 at all cruising speeds, and high 13s at WOT. With methanol injection, small nozzle, WOT is 12.5:1.

Good deal. How much boost. I'm still debating if the juice is worth the squeeze over the supercharger/meth setup I have. It gets down the road pretty good at 11 psi.

6 PSI manifold pressure. I would speculate that my setup makes similar power to the average supercharged 10-12 psi 5vz.

Note i'm also at around 4500' elevation. At sea level I assume it would run lean, but not certain.

Not sure what you mean by " if the juice is worth the squeeze"

Just a figure of speech used when referring to if something is worth the effort or not. In this case he's saying that he's not sure if it's worth the effort to remove his existing SC and install a turbo if the results are roughly the same, give or take a little.
