Hello fellow 4r owners. I've searched but haven't found answers to this question; For those owners who have installed the East Coast Gear Supply bushing in place of the needle bearing, how many trouble-free miles (or kilometers) have you travelled on the bushing? I'm trying to determine it's long-term reliability, and I'd like to hear about the good and the bad. Thanks, & happy travels!

i cant complain about it yet, it was worth the install time and everything involved to fix the issue at hand. unfortuntely ive only driven about 250 miles on it with no issues. with that being said, im going to be watching this thread so i can get the same answer to your question as well.
Never heard that the needle bearing has ever failed. Coming apart is failure I’d say. They just groan away for sometimes no reason ( my case ) or due to advanced CV shaft angle after lifting.
My dealer never heard it of course (twice) so my mechanic buddy tapped in the one from Nitro Gear. Didn’t touch the seal there either.
That was I think 40,000 kilometres ago. Immediately solved the issue (colder temps really amplified it). Has been dead quiet since.
No idea if the Toyota changing out the carrier TSB has ever really addressed the oddity permanently. Kind of like random front end shake.

I bought my new Runner about a month ago, at a dealer out of town, with 18 kms on the ODO; on the 300km drive home it started groaning away. It goes in this week for the ECGS bushing, and some new Elka suspension (because why not hahaha).

Damn you always got me beat. We have about 30K miles on the ECGS bushing with no issues.
Have 326K on the 2014 and just today had an issue with rough idle then stalling about a block from home. There were no codes. It did sit out all night in drenching rain down in Fullerton, CA. Problem seems to have gone away with my wife out and about running errands.

I think you have me beat on overall miles though. I installed the ECGS during a regear at around 80k miles.
I would be thinking fuel pump for stalling with no codes. Yours still original, or changed during that recall?

Changed during the recall, but at like 240K miles. It’s back to running fine again.

No idea. I replaced mine as part of a misdiagnosis (parts canon) somewhere around 150k miles.

Does the ECGS bushing fit and work on the 4Runner limiteds? Reason for the question..
I know the limited isnt a true AWD.. it’s full time 4wd with selectable 4wd.. but why would they even state AWD if no actual AWD 4Runner exists or am I missing something?
