I got the rack 75% installed. That front brace kicked my a$$. What's the trick?
Once I finally got rolling, I thought I had it whooped when somehow in the excitement of the day, I managed to lose 2 bolts!!!
So, all that I have to do tomorrow is head to the hardware store, then tighten everything up.
Oh, and I did end up with a couple of new scratches on the T4R. Frustration leads to force leads to scratches. LOL

I had an extra set of hands. Also went against most directions here and put the side rails on and got them somewhat lined up. Then did the back bar and next the front plate then snugged everything up.
Oh and a few new scratches as well. Getting the damn covers off the factory rails contributed a pair of them. Definitely have to use a plastic upholstery tool and not cheap metal one from Autozone.

I opened my sun roof and went through there. My hands were too big but my wife was a trooper and held the end wrench while I tightened it down. If you don't have a sun roof sorry.
I considered the sunroof trick. As you noticed, the hard part is holding that wrench while you tighten down on it. Hopefully, tomorrow, it'll be a wrap. Well besides the touch-up paint that I need now...:mad2:
I removed the bolts holding the side rails to the front mounting feet and was able to lift up the front fairing enough to get my hands under it to tighten those front bolts.
Big shout out to Rorck for putting this all together. Standup guy for sure!
I say this as a newbie to the forum because I ordered 2 full racks with 2 extra trays and 2 extra rails. Fedex sent me tracking # of 2 packages ONLY. Sunday 4/2 I spoke with Rorck and explained I received only 2 boxes (both 48" tall). Fedex only had 1 of 2 and 2 of 2 delivered. He mentioned he sent fedex 5 boxes and he would look into it for me. He explained he shipped 5 boxes via fedex, 3-48" ones and 2-96" ones. Fedex never indicated to me 5 boxes\tracking numbers. I know it was a fedex glitch! When speaking with Rorck he was on top of what i was providing him fast, so his record keeping on this group buy is awesome!! Well today 4/3 I got my other 3 boxes (1-48" and the 2-96" boxes).
I let Rorck know a few mins ago that I got all 5 boxes so he can take me off his list.
now I gotta get home and decide if i tackle the build and install tonight or not.

Go through the moon roof for the front bolts! If you find 2 sets of extra bolts those would be mine. My dremmel came in handy on my install...
I need another cross bar and a ladder.

Fedex sucks!!! I got some hardware in a plastic bag, when my other 3 packages were delivered. fedex guy came back from the truck and said here are some bolts. Luckily it was just enough to install one rack. I didnt get the woodbox of hardware as most seem to have in this thread.
Rorck... i dont know if you are able to give insight to the manufacturer of these racks but a couple things i noticed would be awesome and helpful with these builds.
first thing would be on the wind screen\front fairing is if the very front hole had a captured nut (spot welded) to the back underside. that would make life so much easier.
second sort of infographic instructions would be helpful. Like ikea does LOL. i am decently mechanically inclined and was able to figure most of the build out but just that little extra might of saved some time.
overall though the build of these racks and alignment isnt too hard if you are working with a friend. for those of you who have built these racks solo i commend you!!!

Because of the delay Ecotechne had with the hardware the shipped without the boxes. They didn’t want to have everyone wait any longer.
I think for the most part all Shipping companies are bad but I’ve had better luck with FedEx(knock on wood). I've had some horrible experiences with UPS damaging expensive goods and loosing packages... and even though I had purchase insurance they never did refund me anything.
