Finally! It looks like one will ship this week with order 7 so I can get good images and feed back. Once we give the go, they will start mass producing these.

The ladder looks great. Not sure about the red step pads though, easy enough to correct. Cant wait to get it.

Ecotechne with ARB Awning & Tepui Ayer Tent - Joshua Tree

I can say, that the Ecotechne rack holds an ARB Awning and Tepui Ayer tent just fine, and sturdy as heck. Driving up to Joshua Tree I was doing 80mph and the tent/awning didn't budge. We did some mild off-roading as well, no problems.

Thanks man.. I was able to fish it out with some finesse, tiny little tweezers, and a magnetic wire pickup tool. I was happy i didnt need to pull the headliner.

That ECHOTECHNE REAR LADDER combined with the ECOTECHNE ROOF RACK will be an awesome combo, and a welcomed fresh change from the rear traditional ladders available on the market for the 4R! Thanks Rock for all your effort to bring us these products. I can't wait to have one of those ladders on my 4R. BTW my roof rack is holding up fine, and still looking very good.

Yeah I thought I read they will be $150 more than a Gobi which seems steep. Hope I am wrong though cuz I agree it is nice to see a different look than what we see everywhere with the Baja and Gobi ladders

Not yet, I know some of the 7th(new design) batch went out last Friday and they are working on shipping more out threw Thursday along with the 8th batch. I finally received the prototype and the cuts/ quality look majorly improved. I took it in for PC and just waiting on the call to come pick it up.

The price of the ladder is still up in the air but I did mention to them the hesitation on everyone's part because of the price. They said that the laser they are putting together involves more cutting, time and bending this the price but they are going to work on keeping it close to Gobis price.

Just ran a couple washers to space the rear bar away from where the ladder lands, when opening the hatch. Nothing else though :yo:

Got my rack yesterday (6th batch) and installed. Missing a couple sets of bolts, but otherwise a solid roof rack! Ran out of time to put the rooftop tent back on - plan to put it up tomorrow.

Patiently awaiting your feedback. Tried to pm rorck but no reply. I'll be mounting my RTT soon and curious about what's involved. Hoping I don't have to flip over the bars for clearance

yeah, my buddy and I did some quick measurements yesterday and the tracks for my RTT might line up with the holes on the crossbars just enough to bolt down onto. Worst case, I'd have to widen the holes to line up with the tent.

The trickiest part seems to be bolting the tent to the crossbars, as there is no way to access the underside when the tent is sitting on the rack. In my head I'm thinking I'll have to remove the crossbars, attach them to the tent first (with precise measurements), remove the rear fairing, slide the tent on from the rear with attached crossbars, then bolt the crossbars to the side rails of the rack, then reattach rear fairing.

I hope that's somewhat clear, I'll post pics tomorrow if I'm successful with this plan ray:

Went through the entire thread, I found the 3rd Gen photo's to be 'lacking' and obviously no 3rd gen owner out there with a good camera... or knows how to get more angles... 3/4 pictures are of the rear... which looks good. the 1 front picture is not promising...

I believe the following...

1) it's the look I'm going for
2) 3rd gen attaches to a plates running into the front doors... yuck
3) front roof line is not the same as the 5th gen... big gap
4) the price is still amazing...
5) no documentation on the 3rd gen but those 'grainy' photos...

the front gap needs help, and the front attachment... even if the system attaches to the truck with the stock 5 side points and then just 'rests' on the front with padded feet, it would look better.

I might have to go make my own...

I think they would have ALOT of 3rd gen owners coming to the table IF they can fix the following

1) front roof line
2) attachment - get rid of those door plates

other than that, the rack looks amazing.
