eddie333 build thread & misc adventures

Nice truck and nice pictures too.
I've been out there also, but the pics were from the Côte-Nord region. Very remote area in parts. I loved it. This summer I'm going to do more exploring around the James Bay region.
If you ever need some hints about where to go up north, check the overlandquebec.com website, lots of knowledgeable people (even if it's a French website, post in English and you'll get answered!).

Thanks for the suggestion! My wife and I love Quebec and are there several times a year and have even talked about moving there waaaay down the road. I spend some time on the site. Right now we plan to do a week-long trip this summer around James Bay, something that's been on my bucket list

Winter off roading on some ice! Got stuck and my wife ended up driving it out while I pushed and she slid in the 4Runner almost a quarter mile downhill on ice as I ran after her. It was great!

I sold my Baja short rack to another forum member and just got in my Baja long rack to replace it. Should have gotten this the first time around based on my needs but I guess you live and learn...

Really like your build. Looks great and I'm super jealous of where you live as it looks like a beautiful place to play and explore unlike much of the Southeast. :thumb:

So I am away on vacation, but before I left I dropped off my 4Runner to a friend to have his shop install the front bumper, winch and rock sliders. I just got this pic texted to me, and damn I am excited to see it! Almost makes me want to end vacation early (just kidding!)... Although I am sure that wouldn't go over well with my wife and kids who are on a beach right now...

Truck looks great, and it looks like you guys have a lot of fun with it.

Just wanted to drop a note and say that your thread has helped me a lot on wheel and offset selection. Thanks for the valuable information!

Dan

Great build thread and adventures. Love all the photos of the great outdoors. Any issues at all combining the Baja Rack and Gobi ladder?

Saturday my wife and I went out to test a new raft we got in a nearby river, but thought we'd check out a local trail that we found on a map first. long story short; we got completely off-the grid miles into the woods and needed to use the winch 15 times due to muddy conditions. 4 hours later we found the exit of the trail three towns over and were too hungry to go rafting, so we went out to eat instead (covered in mud, I might add...)

Once we got out of the trails I noticed a clunk in the left front every time I hit a bump now. Need to diagnose what that could be...

Are you familiar with the North Road that connects to the James Bay Road? I'll be taking a trip up there in a few weeks? Seems very remote.
