Edelbrock shocks on closeout...

Just came across these on the Edelbrock website. They have a similar setup like the Bilstein with an adjustable perch, but only has one adjustment for the front which is 2" and the rears are slightly longer for use up to 2" lift. Not bad for $200 a set.

I already have 5100s up front, ordered the rear to replace my tired stock shocks.

Fronts $68 each

Yep, mine was gonna be $16 and some change. That sealed the deal for me. The cheapest I've found the 5100 rear shocks is $71.25 each. I ordered the pair of Edelbrock's for $65. Great deal, time will tell how well they hold up. I just need something longer than stock, my shocks keep bottoming out.

As a side note,retailmenot.com is an awesome site. They've got promo codes for a ton of places. I've used it quite a bit, that's where I found the code for Edelbrock.

Did some quick searching on these shocks and there are several threads out there saying they are Icons made by Edelbrock? Not sure how accurate that is...
Given the great price I took the leap and ordered myself a set since it is basically half the price of a set of Bilsteins. We'll see how this turns out

That is a good price. You could easily take the fronts to a machine shop and have them put another groove in them if you wanted less than 2 inches of front lift.

Apparently edelbrock use to make the icon shocks, but not anymore. There have been a lot of failure reports on these, i'm hoping the guy on the fj forum knows what he's talking about (quality issues being resolved). I'll know soon enough.

Its the noob asking stupid questions again - would these be a good way to go to replace the OEM shocks on my 05 Runner Sport Edition without screwing up XREAS?

No, if you buy these you will have to remove the xreas system, same goes for any aftermarket shock.

I believe on all shocks, 2wd and 4wd have the same part number, so it shouldn't matter.

You can't replace the xreas shocks without replacing the entire system. When your xreas sh!ts the bed, rip it out and replace the shocks with Edelbrock or billies or co's.

there has been a mixed bag of reviews from the guys on 120. Both me and and Ark have already pulled the trigger on the rears.

**edit** I see you've already ordered them. Good thing you got the coupon. Shipping just for my rears were $18. Im curious to know what the net amount of lift will be with the perch adjusted.
