Eibach Pro-truck lift

I received my order fulfillment email today as well. Should ship by the end of the week!

I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but if you ordered the whole kit it will hopefully ship towards the end of next week. As of this morning the rear springs are in pre-setting and will hopefully get powder coated by the end of the week.

I'll keep you guys updated.

No problem. Hey and I'm not trying to be a Larry Lipshitz either. Just relaying what shockwarehouse told me. I don't care if it takes another month honestly. I do appreciate the updates you provide tho. Communication is always better than radio silence.

Install took me about 3.5 hours with a few breaks to deal with the kids. I bought mine pre assembled because I needed new strut mounts cause one was bad. So I paid bilstein lifts to assemble them. The rear springs are better than factory and longer. I don’t notice a lot of sag. I’m sure there is sag when you load it down but I haven’t notice a big difference when I throw hunting and camping gear in. Usually around 200-300lbs in the back with the seats laying flat. I don’t have a bumper or anything heavy added to the vehicle either.

Torska,
I see that pre-build the springs and struts is an option with Bilstein lifts but could not find the rate, can I ask how much they charge for the service? I'm on their back order email list. Does any one know if the other vendors also offer that service, I'm willing to do the install for everything else but dread breaking out the spring compressors.

You can do this lift without a spring compressor. It's probably safer if you don't use a spring compressor. There are some youtube videos out there on this method. It's not too hard at all.

Yep, that's how I did it and posted a how to about 2 pages back.

I'm really torn on whether or not to go with this kit. The other option I'm considering is Bilstein 6112 / 5160 with the same Eibach 1" spring in the rear.

Most of the wheeling I do is fire roads and moderate speed desert wheeling. I drive the car daily so I'm also hoping for great road manners. My 2010 Trail has about 95k miles and its time for an upgrade.

The cost between the two isn't necessarily the issue as much as its the margin of gained ride quality both on- and off-road. Any opinions between the two kits? I've read some feedback about the Bilsteins having a harsh ride which I would want to avoid, but when I spoke with Wheeler's they disagreed.

The only way to be sure is to drive both yourself. Many people will make a case for one product over another in order to justify their purchasing choices. The way I looked at it is, why would I piece together a kit when there was a viable option out their that was designed/ tuned to work together. For myself, I'm glad I went with Eibach. Everything in one box and was what I was looking for. I got lucky, put my faith in the reputation of a company that I have known of for over ten years, even if I had ran bilstiens exclusively on my old bronco and had nothing bad to say about them.

I'm kind of in the same boat. My off roading is basically forest service roads, and this has to be kept as a good daily driver. I'm also only going with 275s. I pulled the trigger on this because in the small number of experiences on here, they are all positive. Hopefully I can add to the reviews in about 3 weeks. The shop already has my wheels and tires and UCAs. Just waiting for the lift.

The best part of the kit is the shocks, most think the Eibach’s are a far better ride then the Bilsteins!

thanks, I read the post and watched a vid already on that method, never tried that way. I ran the Eibach pro kit on my 2015 Colorado and loved it but used the spring compressors a cple times as I progressed thru the different set ups. I'll read/ watch again, I didn't get a good retention of it, thought it was more of a redneck approach ( no offense to the rednecks) lol

Appreciate that! We put a lot of ride work into these kits. Helps having a bunch of Toyota enthusiasts on staff too.

I've ridden in vehicles where Bilstein's felt amazing and when putting them on different vehicle I owned, they felt like absolute shit.

I didn't want to take that same chance with my current 4Runner. I read a lot of Bilstein reviews where some said the ride was fine and others that said it was too stiff. All subjective opinions, but there were quite a few that mentioned how stiff the Bilsteins were.

That's why I ended up going with the Eibach's. I got the the front adjustable shocks and used the stock coils. I have the front set to the 1.6" setting and the ride is fantastic. It's firmer than stock without being harsh at all. It's a very positive, controlled ride both on and offroad. Mine is a daily driver that see's the dirt 5% of the time, so onroad performance was very important to me. These shocks are great.

It’s like $98. That includes the new mounts. I could have done it myself. Not hard at all. I needed new mounts and the price difference of new mounts I opted for the few bucks more they could put them together. Toytec and wheelers both do the install that I know of. It’s the same price.

Ryan, any insight as to why the 4Runner (and only the 4Runner) kit is priced some $160 more than the Chevy, Ford, even Tacoma kits?

Because all of the vehicles you mentioned do not have rear coil springs and the 4runner does. This kit is 4 springs and 4 shocks. 1500, Tacoma and f150 are 2 springs and 4 shocks.
