Eibach/Toytec springs with Tundra 5100's?

okay i tried asking this in another thread so i wouldn't have to start this one but no one answered.... SO here i am.

I'm thinking of switching up my front set up. I have the TRD springs matched up with the Bilstein 5100's for a Tundra.

can i use these 5100's if i decided to replace the springs with the eibach ones or the adjustable coilover kit for the bilsteins?

how come they don't sell springs by themselves or the add-on coilover kit for tundras?

Yes you can use the Eibach's with the Tundra 5100's. It is less advisable because the spring perch is a different size that the Eibach's, but you will be fine.

What do you mean the adjustable coilover kit? The Toytec Ultimate kit? Those are different Bilsteins than the 5100's as they have a threaded body which enables the coilover to adjust up and down.

Honestly it sounds like you should just sell the 5100's and TRD's and get the Toytec Ultimates. It will be worth it in the end and you will be able to set them to any specific height you want.

yes that's exactly what i meant by the adjustable coil over kit... i had been eyeballing it since the springs by themselves were on back order for a while. i just wanted to make sure i could use them with the Tundra Bilsteins instead of the taco ones.

Are not the same as the coil in the coilover kit that i posted above.

Also, you cannot buy the coils in the coilover kit separately.

right i know that... i was just eyeballing the kit since those were on backorder. i'm just gonna get the springs now (since the billies are adjustable anyway). do these hit the spindle like the TRD ones do?

since they're already 3" springs would I even be able to adjust them without having my CVs hate me? would it sit at 3" with these on the first level?

I don't understand what you mean. The coilover kit springs are not a 3 inch springs and they haven't been on backorder for a long time. If ever.

If the spindle contacts the springs, just rotate the spring so that where the contact point would be, is in between the spring winds.

I have these mounted on my Bilstein HDs and they are awesome. I have them set at about 4" of lift. I wish I started with these. It's great to be able to dial in EXACTLY the lift you want.

When these HDs wear out, I'll replace them with the 5100.

I had Tundra TRDs before I switched. The COs ride and flex as good if not better than the TRDs. Go with the 600# CO coils. The Tundra TRDs are ~595# but are a shorter coil. Taller coils will inherently flex/compress better than a short one.

You can run these springs, or the coil over kit with your tundra 5100's.

They are now in stock and ready to ship. But even thought the 5100's you have are adjustable, you will not be able to adjust them with these springs. Since the springs give you 3" of lift by themselves you would need to leave them on the bottom setting or you will run into problems with your ball joints, cv's etc.

I'd suggest the coil over kit. That's what I'm running on Tundra 5100's and I like it. Save yourself on shipping and come see us and pick them up.

what i meant was that the springs (not the CO kit) where on back order (those are what i wanted) BUT since they were on backorder (the 3" springs, not the kit) it seemed like they would never be available so i was thinking of going with the CO kit.

i'm going to try and rotate the spring to see if that helps. if not i'll look into these options. i'm not sure about spending the cash on the CO kit yet, i think the 3" springs will be enough for me until i finish some other stuff on the list (sliders, locker, bumpers).

i love how the 5100's/TRDs ride (especially taking corners at higher than normal speeds) i just hate that they make contact with the spindle. plus with the 3" springs i could put the perch back at the first notch and eliminate my top plate spacer.

I have this exact setup. Starting the install tomorrow. The Eibachs are 3" so you will have the 5100s on the lowest perch for the 3" (confirmed that with Toytec). By the way, I don't think they are still on backorder, I just ordered mine about a week or so ago...

Sorry just reread your post, I have the Tacoma 5100s but should work with the Tundra ones too...
