Electrical issues, turn signals

Here's the deal. I started looking into what I thought was a burned out right hand turn signal. The bulb and fuse turned out being fine, I just wasn't getting any continuity through the bulb housing. After a few minutes cleaning up the terminals with a scotchbrite pad I got power through housing and a flashing bulb.

THE PROBLEM
The issue now is that my r/h turn signal flashes at twice the speed as it should. (Like they do when a bulb is out). Any idea why?????

If you have a trailer light hookup, they go bad and cause multiple problems.

Ya, I just went through an electrical issue with miltiple symptoms, and this was indeed the problem. I started a thread on it, and spent three weeks (off and on) replacing fuses, bulbs, taking all the interior panals off and checking all the wiring, changed the blinker switch, changed my rear left tail light wire harness, looking over the fog lights I installed, etc . . . all in search of the issue.

A guy on the thread I started eventually mentioned that he had a similar issue and the cause was the trailer harness. So I went out and checked, and sure enough two of the wires had melted and fused together right at the base of the plug.

Thanks a lot, I'll check it out tomorrow. I can only hope it's something that simple. Got a great campin/fishing trip this weekend so all needs to be well!
