Electrical Problem (No power at all)

I know old thread but this will happen again to someone for sure as it happened to me today. Obvious first check was the battery terminal connections and they seemed very tight and ground wires did to. I took them apart anyway and cleaned everything up ( white powder around terminal connections) Hit it with some more red and she fired right up as it always does.
So do check and recheck those terminal connections :suspicious:

Alternator fix
My 2006 toyota truck was not charging , I tried for a week , no luck. It would start if I charged it all night , but would only last about 30 minutes running , you could slowly watch the amps burn down to nothing , and if it was running , but also if you pulled a cable off the battery , positive or negative , didn't matter , it would die instantly . So what I had to do is unplug the 3 wire plug on back of the alternator , and began to take all the tape and plastic off , working my way back to the fuse box till I found the problem , it was the broken black wire , one of the 3 that is part of my plugin , it was about , 3/4 ways back to the fuse box , so i spliced it back ,and now I got full charge to my battery , and no more issues .

I know this thread is old but recently had a similar sounding issue with my 97 limited. My battery is good and my starter didn’t have any indications of being bad, and I hadn’t done anything with anything electrical. At first it started happening seldomly, where I get in and try and start my truck and as soon as I turn the key, all power went dead. I would seem to be able to disconnect the cables from the battery wait a few minutes then reconnect and it would start right up. Now after having to deal with this a few days every time I turned it off I would have to go through the disconnect reconnect to get it to start. I read a few comments here and then I decided Even though my terminal and battery prongs did not look corroded, which is why I didn’t catch it, I still clean them off with a wire brush really good and they shined up very nicely. I I reconnected the cables got in and it started right up. I then shut it off waited a bit and try it again. So To my amazement, each time I did that it started no problem. I will be using the truck for work today starting and turning off several times if something changes I will definitely update my comments but it looks like that was the culprit. So much that I had to join this site and register because I wanted to tell all of you how much I appreciate all the information on here! So if you are running into a problem that you know your battery is good , And you think your starter is probably good, even though your terminals may not look bad, wire brush those little guys and hopefully that is your fix.
