Electrical Question re Front Driver's Side Door

Have searched on this but it's one of those odd questions that's tough to find results for.

I want to do the mod that throws ambient light onto the window switch area of the front driver's side door, but only want the LED to be on when the lights are on. There must be a wire that's controlled by the headlight switch somewhere in the door because there's one window switch that's backlit when the lights are on. Does anyone happen to know which wire that would be and where to find it?

I did some unscientific testing on the plug that supplies power to the switches but could only seem to find terminals that were hot all the time, not just with the headlights on.

Any insight or advice appreciated.

i have not looked in our doors but i would start at the drivers window switch and make my way back to the wires. have any photos?

And never mind. Just took a closer look and realized the window Auto button lights up with the ignition, not the lights, which makes perfect sense since it needs to be lit when the button is operational.
