emergency! alternator dead on side of road. interchange info

I have a 3.4l with a dead bat and alt. Friend has a 2.7 alt he can bring me will it work??? Change pully or it it different all together

The mounting ears might be the same? Can't really tell. The hot post is in a different location, and the 3.4 pulley might be bigger. How far are you from home? I once drove almost an hour with a thrown alternator belt, can you charge or replace the battery and make it home?

One digit off. Pics look extremely similar.never been under hood of a 2.7 so i dont know how they are set up

best bet is to get your buddy to grab one at a parts store, any one he passes should have it

Haha I was about to write just hit it with a hammer when I saw your last post. That's what I do with mine when it starts acting up. Glad you got it running.

skip the alternator. Just have him bring you a new battery. It should get you about an hour worth of driving before it dies. if you're only 45 min from home it will get you there and you can fix it properly.

Be quick though daylights almost gone. No lights, no radio, etc. Save the juice for the engine.

Hammer got me to my new 3rd gen roller(1 hour 15 one way) and home. No more battery light for now. Thanks for the quick responces guys
