Just read this whole thread - hilarious.

Am I the only one thinking of the ending of Horrible Bosses? If some east indian guy is gonna listen in to my conversation, call the cops, disable my car, and tell me to hold tight then I would want my system disabled too. But wait, I'm a Canuck and don't have EnTune or Stars or SOS buttons. Funny though, keep up the good work.

Granted, they were able to remotely kill a Jeep. The Jeep might have just been acting like a normal Jeep.

I don't know how the blast doors could actually work. Anything that could sense an EMP would not be able to transmit the signal back in time to close the doors before the EMP actually arrived. It propagates near the speed of light. Considering the distances relative to velocity, the pulse would reach the facility at least at the same time as the signal to close the doors if not earlier. And with an EMP the pulse is usually a declining wave form so the initial wave is the greatest energy and most damaging. I could be convinced otherwise, but I'd be pretty skeptical of the functional value of EMP doors.

I saw my old boss & asked him how the blast doors worked. They were held open with an electronic solenoid & when power was cut via EMP, the doors closed very slowly via huge hydraulic struts. It was a controlled drop that took 2 minutes so nobody would be crushed, unless they were really, really slow. He had to manually open the doors through the same hydraulic unit using a handle to pump them up. It took 4 hours of pumping to erect them. Here's one of the doors at the Denton, TX FEMA R6 office.
