Enabling keyless entry with engine running

Is it possible to enable the keyless entry to work when the engine is running? Can a dealer re-program this with their special diagnostic tool? That would be icing on the remote starter cake.

I thought most remote starters do not require the doors unlocking? That's the way my buddies saturn works, but I guess it depends on the alarm manufacturer.

I've noticed the stock key fob does not allow the truck to lock with the engine running. Is that what you mean?

Basically yes, I'd like to enable the key fob to lock and unlock the doors when the engine is running. It'd be nice to leave the doors locked when I remotely start the engine and then use the fob to unlock the doors as I approach the vehicle.

The starter toggles the engine mode (run / stop) with a momentary press of the window down button and doesn't care whether the doors are locked or unlocked.
