Engine Coolant Temperature sensor (ECT) and mileage

Did anyone having low mileage issues ever replaced the ECT sensor (others call it CTS sensor) and noticed a MPG increase? As I was researching about it, I found that this sensor could be causing all the MPG decrease. I've noticed my mpg starts to deteriorate and I am wondering if anyone tried it and gained some mpgs. Let me know. Thank you.

after a thorough search, I've seen nobody who posted anything about the ECT sensor. I'm trying to figure out why my mpg is not the same anymore compared to when it was new. I used to get around 20-21 mpg both in the summer and in the winter but just maybe my ECT sensor is getting tired. I know this is not a way to test it and there are other parts that may cause my mpg to decrease.

I'm replacing my ECT sensor with Denso I got from RockAuto and see what happens.

I received my ECT sensor. unfortunately, i'm unable to swap it yesterday due to some wires in the way. I removed the air cleaner assembly which gave me a lot of room to see it. it's located near the firewall between the rear cylinder.. I did not have the socket to use to remove it. i'll tackle this another time but for now, it's not that important.

it's not really on. i'm just curious if my mpg will increase if I change it. I know it's a waste of money and getting a better scanner is more expensive than getting the part. it's a cheap part so no big deal. :) by the way, my dashboard temp is normal.

Just throwing parts at the car doesn't fix anything. Waste of money

Is your check engine light on?
