Now the questions.
You confirmed with the pics that it isn't threaded but a push/slide-in unit that holds with a clip. How tight is the fit? Does it slide in easy? Does the wire connetor clip on or is it a tight fit?
The reason I ask is because from your pics I can see the heat protective wrapping at the wire connector. I want to disassemble mine to fix up the wire wrapping to avoid burning a wire due to exhaust heat.
Bringing up an old thread, but do you need to drain the coolant before install?

Not at all on the V6 as long as its the Toyota part (I'm not sure for the V8 though). This is the easiest block heater I have ever installed. The link below is for a truck but its basically the same. Having a lift helps but its nothing you can't do with just a jack and some stands.
