Engine Mounts

Has anyone on here ever replaced these themself? I replaced the tranny mount fairly easily, but the two front mounts have me a bit puzzled.

The FSM and other manuals show the two bolts and nuts connecting each mount to the frame, but the mounts also have a threaded bolt coming out of the top that doesn't seem to be mentioned in the service manuals. There is a short guide pin which must be for proper alignment, but then there is a longer threaded bolt as well. Is there a nut on the top somehow? If so, it must be pretty hard to get to on the engine block.

Thanks in advance for any help.

It is just how you described it. It is pretty easy to replace. You will need to jack the engine block up to get the remove the mount.

You should service you starter while the mount is out since it is right there.

Thanks for your reply. Specifically, though, how do you get to the nut on top - the one not mentioned in the manuals?

EDIT: I see it now. Just below the exhaust manifold. Looks like you have to unclip and move a wiring harness on the left side first. Thanks again!

Okay, so there is also a coolant hose blocking access the top mount nut on the left side. This is getting better and better!
