engine question

I bought a 93 4runner with a swapped engine a few months ago, the guy said it came from another 4runner. I tested it out and it ran fine so I bought it but now I have come to realize that I don't know what size engine it has. I know the OEM engine was a 3.0 v6 but I don't know how to tell if the one it has now is the same or not. So my question is how do i find out what engine it is?

Take a picture and post it here. The only two engines that are stock for the 2nd gen 4runners are the 3.0 v6 and the 22re 4banger (at least in the states).

Count the number of spark plugs, if there are 4 it's a 22RE, if there are 6 it's a 3ZVFE. That's your only 2 choices.

I had that same intake on my 3.0 when I had it. It did make it sound good.

shroud just looks broken to me.

love the intake. I have a red one with black hoses. I opted not to replace ALL of the tubing though. sounds amazing.

edit: no wait I agree... it does look upside down as well. and broken.

I don't think it's broken, it's missing the piece that clips in if you ever want to remove the radiator with the shroud still attached.
