Engine Replacement Cost?

We were just quoted a total cost for an engine replacement for a 1992 Toyota Truck 4 Runner 4WD V6-180.5 2959cc 3.0L SOHC (3VZ-E) with auto trany at $7000.00 USD. This is for a new short block and all ness work on the rest... This is from a local dealer.

This sure seems high to me.

Any info/help is appreciated.

Of course it's high it's the dealer! But if you need a new motor goto the salvage yards and find one! If you don't want to do that i have a motor here that has 19,000 miles on it! If you want it just make me an offer!

I'm going to end up paying $2700 for a engine from a 1999 from a garage down the street. The engine has 35k on it. That price included installation, parts and new belts and fluids.
