Engine rev question

I have a 2014 Limited. I've noticed when I come to a stop and brake and then shift to P, the engine seems to rev higher after I shift. It revs lower when I switch back to D. Is this normal?

The engine is programmed to idle against an engaged torque converter. When you place it in neutral or park it will momentarily surge to a slightly higher idle until the ecu catches up and backs it down. Inversely it will do the same in when you put it in gear from either park or neutral. If it's only 100 or 200 rpm it is normal.
