Engine shot?

Hi I am a confessed non-mechanic, 99 4runner 3.4 limited that I have taken good care of for about 19 years, 490k on the truck. Recently I was driving and a rattle from the engine appeared... I parked it in my garage and have tried to diagnose it but am way out of my depth. I did take the opportunity to replace the timing belt and cam seals, crank seal, in case it fixed the issue.
Now I am at a loss!

I have some people saying something has let loose ie cam sleeve bearings or lifters... maybe I should consider a new engine? I would like to get a diagnosis but am not sure what to expect.

Any doses of experience or wisdom welcomed...
Thanks in advance

You should post your question in the 3rd Gen 4runner section to get a better response.
Here are a few questions.
Does the motor start and run? If so take a video sound recording and post it.
loss of power etc. Is the check engine light on? Check the flex plate for cracks. When it cracks it makes a rattling noise that seems to come from the rear of the engine. There is a cover on bell housing that you'll have to remove to inspect the flex plate.
You can remove the valve covers and look if there is a loose shim.
