Engine swap 22RE to 5VZ - WHERE IN SOCAL??

I have a 1987 that is getting really tired. I've done everything possible to it besides paint and engine rebuilt - bumpers, gears, interior, lights, differentials, lift, and now I want to replace the tired old 22RE with 260k on it with a 5VZ (I also have a nice 1998 with locker, lift etc). Does anyone know where I can get a reliable and well executed swap done or is someone on the forum experienced and willing to do it?

Awesome! And thank you very much! I have owned a 1st gen 4runner or equivalent model 4x4 pickup since I was 17 (i'm 38 now). So, in a way I'm sad to see the 22RE go as I know it inside and out - rebuilt several with my father, but I want the horsepower and consistency across both rigs. Thanks for finding that link!!

No problem! Good luck with the swap. I'm still amazed at how long every generation of 4runners/Toyota pickups in general can last. I don't think I'll ever sway far from Toyota trucks.

I've tried... it never adds up. Just so well engineered, easy to work on, inexpensive, and capable. Thanks again.
