As the title says, Im noticing that my engine whines/whirs with the RPMs. It's definitely not the alternator, power steering pump, or AC pump. I have a manual transmission and from the inside, it almost sounds like it could be coming from under the stick shift. But not 100% sure. The noise started after a few mudding/off road runs...so it could be debris getting into an exposed bearing.
What do you guys think this could be? Idler bearing (on the timing belt)? Perhaps the pilot bearing/throwout bearing? I plan on doing a clutch job this summer, so while I'm under there please feel free to suggest what parts I should look into replacing.
