Entune 3.1 update?

as soon as i picked mine up saturday it ran an update when it connected to my phone and then did the install. i will check at lunch to confirm the patch #
 
It would appear to be universal. I poked around and found the following change log. Going to try it on my 2013 LE and hope it resolves the annoying BT and iPod autoplay issue.

Here are the changes and fixes.
2012 model year vehicles equipped with a Display Audio Navigation System and Entune (version
less than 2.1.0) may exhibit one or more of the following conditions:
• Vehicle orientation slow to update after vehicle startup
• Five Bing™ search results are not all displayed on the map
• Voice recognition destination request does not provide feedback
• Voice recognition for POI search displays "Function not available" message
• "Car Multimedia" device name cannot be changed
2012 – 2013 model year vehicles equipped with a Display Audio Navigation System (Non-HDD) and
Entune (version less than 2.2.0) may exhibit one or more of the following conditions:
• “Address non-navigable” message when using the navigation system
• Head unit audio does not switch correctly between day and night modes
• Dynamic re-route navigation setting is not remembered after ignition cycle
• Traffic Radius Filter setting is not remembered after ignition cycle
• “You have arrived at your destination” message gives incorrect side of street
• Head unit does not display incoming iPhone® iOS 6 text message sender ID
• Head unit does not fully display incoming iPhone® iOS 6 text messages which include carriage
returns (line breaks)
2012 – 2014 model year vehicles equipped with a Display Audio Navigation System (Non-HDD) and
Entune (version less than 3.1.0) may exhibit one or more of the following conditions:
• Turn-by-turn guidance is not given when routing through unverified roads (“In Process Map
Data” message displays in turn list)
• Call volume through speakers is very loud upon first-time phone pairing (for Highlander, Tacoma,
and Venza vehicles with JBL)
• iPod® and iPhone® (in iPod mode) autoplays when connected via USB
• Bluetooth® (BT) devices (in Bluetooth audio mode) autoplays when connected to the system
Updated system software is now available to address these conditions.
 
Just tried it on my 2013 te, that was running 1.7
Worked flawlessly, just remember when you're formatting your usb stick to name it 13b

Was listening to Bluetooth audio then plugged in ipod and it did not switch to ipod automatically, nice.

I just went to my dealer last night and had them update it. I like the way the audio screen looks when its playing music. Havent messed with it enough to notice other changes.
 
have to try this tonite when i get home. already downloaded this to my google drive in case the dropbox closed up.
 
Just updated my 2013 TE from 2.2 to 3.1. I see no differences yet, but haven't had much time to play around with it yet.
 
Entune 3.1 Upgrade

Thanks to NoDak for sharing this. I updated my 2013 TE from 1.7 to 3.1 today. I had a problem with my TE not recognizing the usb stick until I formatted it as FAT32. I guess Toyota does not talk NTFS.

What year is this for? I know that this is for all Entune systems but as I start looking, mine looks nothing like this. I have a '14 and Entune software isn't 1.0 2.0 or 3.0, it's something else.

TSP says that it is for 2012,2013 4Runner. Don't think it is for 2014. Yours has more features anyhow.

You should read the TSB included in the folder it tells you exactly what models and entune systems this update is for. ;-)

To add what [MENTION=89562]bimrunner[/MENTION] it is for non-hdd entune versions.

for those that don't read the PDF, it will not work on 2014 4runners. its stated right in the PDF 2013 or older or for those years for other models.

since I couldn't get the PDF to come up at work, once I got home and was able to pull down the PDF and read it, realized that the entune system for the 2014 is a totally different setup.

the new versions use your data plan to update via cellphone I think, cant confirm this as I have yet to see an update in the log file in the software update details pane.


at least everyone else can benefit for this free update.

Haha yeah yeah I was trying to skim through it between work and dinner and must have missed that. I just got excited for an update man.

And yes, the entune does update through the phone now that I think about it. They did it through my phone at the dealer.
