Well when you can’t fix it just scrap it apparently.

Dear Toyota Owner,

Thank you for being a Toyota Entune[emoji769] 3.0 App Suite customer.

As technology and markets change, third-party application providers continuously evolve their products and services. On November 13th, 2018, a multimedia system update will appear on your vehicle display. After completion, Pandora[emoji768] will no longer be available in Entune[emoji769] 3.0 App Suite, as this product and service will no longer be supported by the third-party application provider.

In your Toyota, you can still enjoy Pandora and other popular music applications via Bluetooth or USB connection. For your device's compatibility and pairing instruction, please visit Toyota.com/entune.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you have any questions, please contact the Toyota Customer Experience Center at 1-800-331-4331 Monday - Friday, 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, or Saturday 7:00 am to 4:30 pm Central Time.

Currently waiting for my 4Runner (2019)... Is it even possible for Entune to be updated in the future to allow Android Auto/Apple CarPlay?

Seems kind of like a matter of time, right? Or will I basically just be using Bluetooth all the time?

****ING HORSE SHIT!!! oh well, guess its time to start saving up for an aftermarket head unit and then off to the backyard to light the entune unit on fire followed by a youtube/ instagram video #entune_sux_balls:frusty::frusty::frusty:

Very unlikely, as Toyota has some sort of allergy to carplay and android auto. Some of their new cars are offering carplay, but not AA. Makes very little sense -- if they don't want to offer these, they could at least put half an effort into making Entune functional.

That's funny. It says you can still use Bluetooth but our Bluetooth has been terrible since day one. And Toyota won't fix it or replace it. Tried twice and they blame it on our phones. (Mine, my wife's, my brother's and her bother's phone are all the problem apparently...) What a joke of a system. Only bummer is the head unit is like part of the dash trim. So to replace it means a new trim piece and doesn't always match the factory interior. Still worth replacing. I think I'm literally going to throw my old head unit off a cliff when it comes time.

lately my phone has started to play pandora when i start the 4runner. now i have two different songs playing . Works like crap and I have been less than impressed. still I dont like things being taken away from me after I have paid for it. thanks Toyota. Better luck next time.

I did actually find this, referring to Entune 3.0 :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TAThWECkhVc

Looks like Entune 3.0 allows or will allow Carplay, as long as the phone is plugged in directly via USB. This obviously is an Avalon, and not a 4runner, but Entune 3.0 is the OS, correct? Does it update?

Oh.

The Pandora integration has been a dumpster fire for a long time. Shouldn't be that hard to figure it out software wise though. The convenience of having it automatically startup for short trips was nice. Normally I use Amazon music, but you have to get your phone out to use it, so it's not convenient for something like my 8 minute drive to work.

Completely agree - Pandora integration was a dumpster fire. It automatically starts up for me about 80% of the time. The other 20% of the time I have to turn Bluetooth off/on on my phone to get it going. Still, it was nice to have when it worked.

Probably a good development. I personally don't use any of those apps on my phone, especially so on the entune unit. Hopefully they work out some of the other well known bugs in the update...

6k miles on my Pro. After taking it in 3 times for Entune problems, I finally just deleted the app off my phone all together.

It was nice having the pandora app on their because I didn’t have to dig through my pockets for my phone to change the station or anything other than to skip. Also, with me having unlimited skips through pandora, the Entune app would recognize that and I’d be skipped out after 5. I just use pandora through Bluetooth now.

Glad they decided to finally cut their losses with that system. Hopefully they re-release it when it’s perfected, or just something completely different like car play.

ENTUNE Losing Pandora

Well, isn't this just great.. It looks like saga of Toyota not embracing the Carplay / Android Auto is finally coming around to bite them in the ass.

What is the difference between running the app on your phone vs. running the app on your vehicle? Either way, the sound comes out the speakers no?

Yeah. Entune sucks anyway. It really does nothing. It’s more of a hassle to set up entune to work with Pandora than to just run Pandora on your phone and select Bluetooth in the audio source. The album info is displayed either way.

I hated the App when I used it since I pay for Pandora Premium. Logging in to the Entune app every time I want to use it is a waste in my opinion. Only thing I use is the Weather portion to see the 3 day forecast when I'm curious

No commercials, unlimited skips, and my ringtones didn't play thru the radio like they do on Bluetooth. It was better in every way...

When it worked.... I'm a little miffed that the only thing I liked abouth entune is going away

Haha I did notice the no commercials. That was a pleasant glitch.
